Cabarrus County's Annual Charity Golf Tournament to Benefit Public School Nurses
For the health and safety of our golfers and staff, the 16th Annual S4TK Golf Tournament will be postponed until 2021.
When the Cabarrus County Medical Society Alliance finished our 2019 Swing 4 The Kids Golf Tournament and moved into an advisory role for this year’s event, who would have ever dreamed of this year’s unprecedented times? With great disappointment, we wish to inform you that our 16th Annual S4TK Golf Tournament will be postponed until 2021. With Cabarrus Health Alliance in the forefront of Cabarrus County’s response to COVID-19, we have made this decision to support the wellness and safety of our friends, neighbors, and community.

The Cabarrus Health Alliance Public School Nurse Program was established in 1988 and, in 1999, expanded to a Nurse in Every School. This specialty branch of professional nursing is designed to assure a safe, healthy environment that is conducive to learning, and seeks to prevent or identify student health or health-related problems and provide care to those who become ill or injured while at school. Cabarrus County is one of the few counties in North Carolina to have a Nurse in Every School. The Cabarrus Health Alliance is now in their 20th year of maintaining this status.
With the continued population growth in the county and the ongoing construction of new schools, the Public School Nurse program is constantly expanding. For the 2019-20 school year, 43 nurses will be serving traditional public schools in Kannapolis City and Cabarrus County Schools.
